About me
I am a former academic in Arts and Humanities with a Doctorate in phenomenology. My PhD was concerned with the visual and psychological implications of bodily change and boundaries. The phenomenological lens I developed during my research led to my interest in becoming a psychotherapist, and remains central to the way I work with clients. Relational TA, which is what I practice, uses phenomenology as both a diagnostic tool and an agent of change.
I am an active person who loves cross-country running, hiking and lifting weights in my free time. I am also a classically trained dancer, and teach/practice Yoga (Hatha), Yin, Mindfulness and Meditation. I see these movement-based practices as an embodied form of knowledge.
My varied career and interests mean I am experienced in working with people of different abilities, ages and demographics. I am well-travelled, with a multi-cultural and multi-faith background that has given me a respectful curiosity for difference and diversity.
